October 9^th 2017 marked California’s most destructive fire in its history up to that point. The Tubbs Fire burned 5,643 homes and claimed the lives of 22 people in Sonoma County. Government resources were completely overwhelmed. Mandatory evacuation and saving lives was priority. A few neighbors assisted with evacuation efforts then later formed a vigilante fire force and saved our neighborhood. As if the fires weren’t enough we found ourselves in the midst of complete anarchy. We were without power for weeks. Looters were running unchecked through the streets. As life returned to “normal”, our new normal included ongoing power outages, a pandemic requiring a shelter in place, social unrest and riots, and supply chain disruption.
